The No. 17 Michigan State women's golf team carded a 294 in Saturday's second round of the Landfall Tradition to move up to sixth place in the 18-team tournament with an overall team score of 598 (304-296). The competitive field features 15 teams in the Golfweek Top 50.
Lindsey Solberg led the Spartans in the second round with a 1-under 71, improving her score by eight shots after Friday's 79. Solberg is currently tied for 28th with a 150 (79-71).
Sophomore Caroline Powers shot even par (72) on Saturday and enters Sunday's final round in a tie for 12th at 3-over 147 (75-72).
True freshman Allyssa Ferrell, who carded a team-best 72 on Friday, came back with a 76 in the second round and is tied for 15th with a 148 (+4).
Aimee Neff rounded out the team scoring on Saturday by shooting a 3-over 75. She is tied for 45th on the individual leaderboard with a 154 (79-75). Michelle Bowles carded a 79 in the second round and is at 157 (78-79). No. 5 Duke continues to lead the tournament at 1-under 575 (291-284).
