Robert Garrigus won the season-ending tournament to keep his PGA Tour card, closing with an 8-under 64 for a three-stroke victory. Last week:Ben Crane won the McGladrey Classic at Sea Island in Georgia, beating Webb Simpson with a par on the second hole of a playoff. Seven strokes behind with 11 holes to play, Crane finished with a 7-under 63. Simpson missed a 3-foot par putt the final hole of the playoff.
Notes: Simpson earned $432,000 last week to top the money list with $6,200,243 — $363,029 more than second-place Luke Donald. Both have entered the season finale, and at the very least, the top-ranked Donald would have to finish no worse than a two-way tie for second to have any chance to move past Simpson and become the first player to sweep money titles on the PGA Tour and European Tour. Donald already has a comfortable lead in Europe. … The final top 125 on the money list will earn full 2012 exemptions, and the next 25 will receive conditional status. D.J.
