Town Marshal Dennis Conaway said in a press release, "Keep safety in mind at all times."

He also provided details on golf cart rules which include the following:

* Operator must be at least 16 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.

* Vehicle must have at least one operational head lamp and at least one operational tail lamp.

* A slowing moving triangle or a red or orange flashing light should be visible from the rear.

* Golf cart drivers will follow all motor vehicle laws.

* Golf carts will carry only the amount of passengers they are designed for.

* Head and tail lamps will be illuminated when the vehicle is in operation.

* Golf carts cannot be operated on state roads other than to make a direct crossing.

* Yield the right of way to larger vehicles.

* Passengers cannot stand while vehicle is in motion.

"If you are involved in a traffic accident it will be treated the same as if you were in your passenger vehicle," Conaway said.

Other safety tips include:

* Be respectful to others.

* Know where your children are at all times.

* Instruct your child to go to the nearest yard sale activity if the child becomes separated from parent.

* Open alcohol containers on any Worthington street will be treated under Indiana statutes.
